Marisa’s Way: Detection for Prevention A Night of Music at JM Lexus

Tragedy stuck in the early morning hours of November 17, 2013, when Marisa Catronio and Kaitlyn Ferrante were killed on the Sawgrass Expressway by a driver who was going the wrong way. Since then, the devastated family and friends have made it their mission to prevent future lives lost through the creation of Marisa’s Way.

The goal of the organization is to introduce a bill to the Florida legislature that will focus on creating more entrance ramp awareness, along with physical devices that will alert those driving the wrong way, as well as the other drivers on the road. And so on May 14, Marisa’s Way hosted a Night of Music at JM Lexus in Margate, to raise funds to support the cause.

City Furniture was proud to help sponsor the event, which featured music by a variety of talented singers, as well as dinner, dancing, raffles, and an appearance by reality star Victoria Rafaeli from Big Brother. Not only did the special evening remember the lives of Marisa and Kaitlyn, but it helped bring us one step closer to making sure no family ever has to suffer through this tragedy again.
